I think Maven adds a META-INF/pom.properties (or some similar name?)
resource to an artifact jar which essentially gives you the same result
as having the filtered src/main/resources/version.prp file mentioned in
the thread. Of course now your runtime lookup of the version info would
be tied to a Maven build of that code.
