No, that's not a military acronym :)
Our Feb meeting is scheduled for the 18th and for a change we have advance
notice. Ted Neward is going to be talking about the State of the Union of
Java which is timely considering that Java 8 is coming out soon. Come with
all your questions. Details are below this message and @
http://www.seajug.org
pizza/pop provided and I will be video-taping.
I'll send more reminders closer to the date.

*18 Feb 2014 : SOTUJ and Q&A*
In the spirit of the recent State of the Union address, Ted Neward will
present a brief 'State of the Union: Java Edition' to describe what he sees
going on in the Java world-and in the larger world of software development
in general-and how it will affect those who are developing and running
applications on the JVM. He'll then take questions from the audience on any
loosely-related Java or JVM topic, until the audience runs out of
questions, the meeting runs out of time, or the universe runs out of Diet
Coke.
Speaker: Ted Neward
Ted Neward is the CTO of iTrellis <http://www.itrellis.com/>, a consulting
services company located in Bellevue, Washington. He is an
internationally-recognized speaker at conferences on both Java and .NET,
including Microsoft TechEd, Sun's JavaOne, the NoFluffJustStuff software
symposia, JAX, and more. He's written a dozen books, hundreds of articles,
blogs at http://blogs.tedneward.com, and has served on several Java JSRs
and Microsoft 'Insider' review boards. He lives in Redmond, WA.
